Board of Deacons

The Hope Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons is comprised of 14 members, including a moderator and secretary.  Each Deacon is nominated and elected, then installed before the congregation by the laying on of hands.  Each Deacon is elected to a three-year term.

Responsibilities:
The Units of Caring of the Board of Deacons include:

bullet

Hospitalization:

Deacons will organize volunteers for hospitalization visitation, with a goal to have anyone in the Hope family that is hospitalized to receive a visit from a Hope Church representative.

bullet

Shut-ins & Elderly:

This group will organize volunteers in the process of “adopting” an elderly/shut-in.            Our goal here is to be the link between the church and elderly/shut-in, while also providing camaraderie

bullet

College Ministry:

This unit is designed to keep Hope Church’s college students in touch with the church, by providing care packages, birthday cards, baked goods, etc. This unit will depend heavily on donated items, and volunteers, which will be organized by the Deacons.

bullet

Transportation:

Deacons will coordinate rides for any church member that may need transportation to worship, church activities, doctor’s appointments or special need errands.  This is a service that is by request only, and will be organized by the Deacons.
